Upload IOS by Xmodem dilakukan jika IOS router crash sehingga tidak bisa masuk ke menu konfigurasi. Cara ini sudah di test untuk upload router Cisco 2621 dan 3745.
Step by Step:
masuk ke menu confreg untuk merubah rate console menjadi 115200 agar proses upload lebih cepat.
[Ctrl] + [Break] untuk masuk ke menu ROMMON
rommon 3 > confreg

sesuaikan setting parameter speed local console menjadi 115200
masuk kemballi ke menu ROMMON
rommon 2 > xmodem -r c2600-ix-mz.123-11.YZ2.bin [nama file IOS yang akan di upload]
Aktifkan TFT P server dan setting folder lokasi file IOS
Dari hyper terminal masuk ke menu Transfer – Send File – Xmodem, klik Send
